Ben-Hur was initially planned to be released on February 26, 2016 in the United States and Canada yet Paramount later moved it to August 12, 2016. At the 2016 CinemaCon, Paramount again moved its release date a week later to August 19 and its past date was involved by Paramount's own particular Florence Foster Jenkins. It will be released in normal 2D, 3D and Digital 3D. It is planned to be released in the United Kingdom and Ireland on August 26, a week after its U.S. premiere. As per Variety, this choice to change from February to August may have been because of the studio's confidence in summer being the best time to unspool a tentpole epic.
